Josh Duhamel, 52, reveals the “taboo” method he uses to “maintain -young and virile for as long as I can”

Josh Duhamel is back on the clock, with a little help from modern medicine.

The 52 -year -old “transformers” star says he has the same energy he was in his twenties, but admits that he has kept silent about what has really been feeding his second wind.

Now, with the launch of his new Wellness brand, Duhamel is finally clean about the “taboo” therapy he has trusted for the last five years to stay strong, sharpened and prepared by the camera.

Duhamel first realized that there was something turned off a few years ago: his energy was falling and the lifestyle of great Octana who was used to suddenly feeling like a spring.

“I made an inventory, a personal inventory, how I felt and knew it was not the place where I was five years old,” he said on Thursday in a New York Men’s Health Laboratory event.

Desired of answers, Duhamel did some blood work. The culprit was clear: low testosterone.

While some men have constant levels throughout their lives, most men begin to see a gradual decrease in their testosterone around 40 years old, according to Harvard Health.

It is not the one that the free -fall hormonal women have during the menopause. Instead, the fall is slow (about 1% a year), but for 70 years, the average man works with 30% lower than his peak.

This drop can lead to a long list of changes, including the decrease in muscle mass and strength, hair loss, weight gain, low libido, fatigue and mood changes.

The actor “all my children” had heard of testosterone or TRT replacement therapy, but only whispers.

“It was one of those things he did not want to talk about,” said Duhamel. “Nor did anyone ask.”

Still, he decided to give him a turn.

“I started taking testosterone injections and started to feel -very well,” Duhamel said in Forbes in a recent interview, adding that he also began using hair growth treatments and longevity medicine.

“I had the desire to go out again and do the things that I no longer had to do,” he added, emphasizing that he experimented with little or no side effects.

TRT, a form of hormonal therapy that uses anabolic steroids, can be administered by injections, oral medicines, gels or patches. Its popularity quickly increases in the United States, and recipes jumped from 7.3 million in 2019 to more than 11 million in 2023, according to CBS News.

Over time, Duhamel’s motivation went from looking like to simply maintaining.

“I didn’t have my first child until I was 40, and then I was 52 years old; I only had another,” said the actor. “In general, I want to keep -as young and man as I can for as long as I can.”

Even with such positive results, Duhamel maintained its use of TRT under wrapping.

“The boys asked me what he was doing and did not want to talk,” Duhamel said in a recent episode of Ed Mylett’s program. “I told them I was eating very well and worked, but the truth is that I was doing TRT,” adding that it is still a “taboo thing”.

This fear almost prevented him from being public and launching his new brand.

“At first, my representatives were like,” No, you won’t be the face of a testosterone company! This is not something you talk about! “, He recalled.” And I was like, “maybe it is!”

Gatlan, Duhamel’s new company, focuses on treatments to help men with hormonal optimization, weight loss and hair loss.

“We want to allocate something that men do for years and shine and do -not so taboo,” Forbes told Forbes. “You can look and feel -better for a long time. Why not take advantage of modern medicine?”

Duhamel accredits this regime to help him juggle paternity along with the demanding papers, including his last as a farmer Staten Kirkland in “Ransom Canyon”, a Netflix drama on a man struggling to protect his family’s legacy.

After five years in TRT, Duhamel said that the impact is clear when it was a break.

“It’s less energy, a little harder to keep the muscle and a little harder to keep the fat,” he told the Lab Men’s Health event. “You can definitely feel the difference.”
